Tu Juliet Jatt Di: COLORS Brings a New-Age Love Story Where Marriage Comes Before College

Tu Juliet Jatt Di A Desi Romance with a Twist Premieres on 17th November, 7 PM on COLORS & JioHotstar

by Jay Rawal

COLORS is ready to rewrite the rules of love with its brand-new romantic drama Tu Juliet Jatt Di, premiering on 17th November at 7:00 PM. Produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey under Dreamiyata Entertainment, the show presents a refreshing new-age love story set in the heart of Punjab — a tale where marriage happens first, then college, and then romance begins. The Focus Key Phrase TJJ defines this unconventional journey of two opposites who must learn that love doesn’t always follow logic — sometimes, it follows fate.

Tu Juliet Jatt Di : A Marriage Before College — A Love Story in Reverse

Set against the lively backdrop of Chandigarh Prime University, Tu Juliet Jatt Di (TJJ) follows Nawab (Syed Raza), a bold, carefree, and rebellious Jatt, and Heer (Jasmeet Kaur), a focused, disciplined, and ambitious girl determined to create a better life for her mother. Their worlds couldn’t be more different — but when destiny forces them into an unexpected marriage before college even begins, their love story starts where most end.

Filled with campus chaos, culture clashes, and emotional discovery, TJJ turns the classic romance trope upside down, proving that sometimes, love isn’t a choice — it’s a challenge.

Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey Bring a Fresh Punjabi Pulse to TJJ

Producer Sargun Mehta of Dreamiyata Entertainment shares, “College is where identities are built — where you figure out who you are and what you’re willing to fight for. With Tu Juliet Jatt Di, we wanted to explore a love that’s unusual and transformative. Heer and Nawab don’t complete each other — they challenge each other. It’s a light-hearted, fun story set in Chandigarh, where enemies become allies and every test teaches a lesson no textbook can cover.”

Syed Raza and Jasmeet Kaur Bring Fire and Balance to the Screen

Syed Raza, who plays Nawab, describes his character as “a man who lives by his own rules.” He says, “Tu Juliet Jatt Di flips the script — love doesn’t begin in college, it starts with marriage. Nawab thinks college is about fun and fame, until Heer enters his life and turns his world upside down. It’s a love story in reverse — unpredictable, yet very real.”

Jasmeet Kaur, portraying Heer, adds, “This show beautifully captures the tug between responsibility and heart. Heer is practical and independent — love wasn’t on her timetable. But suddenly finding herself married to someone like Nawab — impulsive and free-spirited — forces her to see life differently. Tu Juliet Jatt Di is real, emotional, and full of lessons about love and identity.”

Sangita Ghosh Shines as Gulaab — The Protective Mother with a Flawed Heart

Sangita Ghosh steps into the role of Gulaab, Nawab’s overprotective yet loving mother. She explains, “Gulaab is a mother whose love knows no limits. Her affection has become control because she fears losing her son’s attention. Every manipulation she does stems from love, even when it hurts. The show highlights today’s youth’s tug between freedom and family expectations — something every household will relate to.”

TJJ: A Story Rooted in Punjab, Crafted for Every Heart

Sameer Gogate, Business Head, Jiostar, adds, “Tu Juliet Jatt Di is more than a romance — it’s a celebration of culture, ambition, and emotion. It captures the pulse of today’s youth while staying rooted in the heart of Punjab. It’s bold, heartfelt, and zinda-dil — the kind of story that speaks to every generation.”

With a rich Punjabi backdrop, sparkling humor, and genuine emotional depth, Tu Juliet Jatt Di promises to redefine love for the modern viewer — proving that sometimes, forever begins with a twist.
